Mann Lines is today one of the leaders in the short sea ro-ro business and in particular to the automotive sector.

Understanding the customer's needs is essential and with the dedicated team within the Mann Lines organisation we are able to adapt and provide innovative and dynamic shipping solutions to the market.
During 2009, Mann Lines introduced a new dedicated weekly ro-ro service between Spain & Germany. Using the ports of Santander and Cuxhaven the service is able to offer approximately 600 spaces for vehicles in each direction.
Cuxhaven, a main hub for Mann Lines, offers seamless connections to the Line’s existing ro-ro services enabling through transits to UK, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Russia and Central Asia.
Throughout North & Southern Europe, The Baltics and Russia, Mann Lines offers twelve of its owned Group offices at all of the locations.

Both vessels have been strategically designed maximising the loading capabilities. By adding "two tier" retractable car decks both vessels will be able to accommodate approximately 500 vehicle spaces each to these dedicated car deck and approximately 1200 vehicle spaces each in total.

Whilst the Port of Tyne’s heritage can be traced back through several centuries, it is the vision and radical investment by its Board and management team that is creating a vibrant, sustainable working port for the future.
The triple values of customer focus, people focus and long term thinking, together with a programme to ensure resources are used to their maximum efficiency and valuable infrastructure is developed and maintained and fit for purpose, enables the port to keep pace with the ever-changing markets and requirements of its customers.
That the port is a major asset to the region is beyond question. Its five commercial business areas – bulk & conventional cargo, car terminals, cruise & ferries, logistics, and estates; three rail terminals and a modern international cruise and passenger terminal bringing tourists contributing to the local economy – all add value to North East England. And its Marine Services undertake the statutory responsibilities for conservancy and the safety of all navigation on the 23 miles of the tidal reach of the river Tyne.
An economic impact assessment, carried out a few years ago, calculated that the gross value added contribution the port makes to the regional economy is around £460 million, and it also supports up to 8,000 people in employment in North East England, both directly and indirectly.
Traditionally famous for its coal exports, the radical changes in the UK’s mining industry during the 1990s created an urgent need for the port to diversify to remain viable. And while the port has successfully entered into new markets, ranging from car exports, imports and trans-shipments, through to logistics and cruise and ferries, helping the port earn the accolade of European Port of the Year for three consecutive years, and one of the finalists in the Seatrade Insider Cruise Port of the Year 2008, energy is once again holding pole position in the port’s portfolio; it was ranked the fourth largest importer of coal in the UK in 2008.
And the future? Recent exciting opportunities include the announcement by MGT Power of their plan, subject to planning approval, to build their biomass-fuelled Tyne Renewable Energy plant on the port’s north bank at North Shields. That creative thinking and partnership working can provide solutions that are both environmentally sound and cost effective has been borne out with the creation of 13 acres of much needed operational land on the south bank of the river at South Shields by infilling the port’s Tyne Dock with the spoil from the construction of the second Tyne Tunnel. 2009 ended on a high-note with the signing of an agreement between the Port of Tyne and Drax Power Limited for the provision of handling and covered storage facilities for between 0.5 million and 1.4 million tonnes of biomass per annum, for an initial 10 year period on the port’s south bank at South Shields. Both projects contributing significantly to North East England’s growing role at the forefront of the low-carbon economy.

Not only has our approach enabled us to reduce costs for transportation, but we also reduce clients’ capital invested in assets whilst in transit due to faster transportation and customs clearance.
The potential for supply chain interruption is always a threat to lean manufacturing, and whether an interruption is caused by industrial action, quality failure, financial stability, sudden demand surge, bad weather or a combination of these issues, it is imperative to have in place a company that can act fast, be pro-active and supportive. That’s where Priority Freight helps. Typically we collect goods anywhere in Europe within 60 minutes, kick-starting an urgent delivery to prevent a supply chain slip-up from becoming a production disaster. That’s why Priority Freight are relied upon by the world’s leading OEMs, and their suppliers for their priority time-definite transports by road and air.
As well as inbound emergencies, car companies choose us to protect their brand image by providing after-market express transport of vital parts to distributors and direct to dealerships. Although there may not be the same downtime costs of lost production, OEMs realise that customer satisfaction in their brand is of huge value, and Priority Freight helps keep OEMs’ promises to their customers, by getting the parts to them on time.
Priority Freight provides door to door transportation globally, utilising multimodal services to provide the highest service level and optimum solution every time. Services provided include:

Trade Merit focuses on delivering solutions to address the current Supply Chain Deadlock.
On one hand, effective Supply Chain requires a holistic approach to visibility, cost control, risk management, and customer satisfaction. On the other hand, due to operational imperatives, each department focuses on its role-specific view of these elements.
Furthermore, holistic Supply Chain initiatives are traditionally high-risk ventures; they require large upfront investment and long implementation cycle. Accordingly, requirements often change before completion and Return on Investment (ROI) is difficult to validate. Thus, holistic supply chain is today deadlocked between the necessity to build it and the high risk of its implementation.
TradeMerit solution breaks this Deadlock through a pragmatic and incremental approach:
In partnership with IBM, TradeMerit solution captures Trade-Lane plans, manages data across the supply chain network, and monitors overall performance. As a result, organizations can measure total landed cost and identify cross-functional opportunities for improvements such as: order cycle times, compliance, and operational accountability. Ultimately this leads to risk reduction and increases customer satisfaction.
Our solution has been independently verified to yield ROI in less than 4 months for a 4 weeks primer implementation.
